To program a new BCM, navigate to the Vehicle Control Systems menu in the scan tool’s computer/integration systems section. The BCM stores information about the vehicle options and, in the absence of proper configuration, it will be unable to control all of them. A new body control module (BCM) must be properly programmed and configured for the proper type of production option (RPO). System problems are almost always caused by a faulty wiring connection, connectors, or component. To program BCM, it must be assigned to the vehicle in which it is installed. The body control module (BCM) is mounted behind the trim panel on the RH Kick Pad. This can be done by a dealer or an experienced automotive locksmith. If you are installing a new BCM in your vehicle, it will need to be programmed.
